Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC)
- Small custom hearing instrument
- Hardly visible in the ear canal
- Best for moderate to severe hearing loss
In-the-Canal (ITC)
- Custom hearing instrument
- Easy to insert and remove
- Excellent battery life
- Best for moderate to severe hearing loss
- Available with Bluetooth connectivity to use with an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy phone
Behind-the-Ear
- Consists of a device behind the ear that is connected to a custom earmold via a clear plastic tube
- Best for moderately-severe to profound hearing loss
- Excellent battery life
- Easy to insert and remove
CROS
- Designed primarily for people with unilateral hearing loss (hearing loss in only one ear or hearing loss in one ear that is significantly worse than the “better ear”)
- A transmitter is worn on the poorer ear that sends the sound signal to a hearing aid/receiver worn on the better ear
